Photocatalytic TiO2 – PTFE Coated Fabrics

Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) acts as a photocatalyst which has strong oxidizing effect when activated by UV light such as sunlight. When activated by UV light, TiO2 photoactivity is capable of decomposing various chemical substances including ammonia, nitrogen oxide and many organic substances.

Though PTFE coated fabrics offer self-cleaning properties, properly applied photocatalytic TiO2 on FIBERTOP® fabrics decompose the various pollutants such as dust, dirt, smoke and other organic matter adhering to the fabric especially in industrial and other polluted areas such as the cities. This allows the fabric to remain clean and at the same time provide environmental protection.

 

Fibertech has carried extensive studies and has developed the technology of coating photocatalytic TiO2 on woven glass fiber fabrics coated with PTFE.

Keelung Indoor Pool, Taiwan

FIBERTOP® T400 was used for this swimming pool project. The excellent light translucent property of the fabric provides sufficient light during day time and beautiful aesthetic look during the night time with color light effects.

FIBERTOP® T400 has become the preferred choice of fabric due to its excellent properties, unmatched by any other equivalent competitive products.


 

Al Hamra Oasis Sports Center, Riyadh, KSA

FIBERTOP® C1008XT an indigenously designed and developed high strength EC6 micron fabric was used for this prestigious tennis sports complex. The previously used PVC fabric was replaced with PTFE coated fabric.

The project required very high strength fabric and FIBERTOP® C1008XT was the only preferred fabric as it offered the highest strength properties.

Tre Island Amphitheater, Vietnam

The once calm and placid island of the coast of Vietnam has suddenly come to lime light with the beautifully looking fabric structure illuminating the surroundings. FIBERTOP® C1008 fabric was used for the amphitheater and the seating area.

C1008 is a medium to heavy weight fabric offering excellent mechanical properties making it suitable for long span structures.
